One thing I am truly grateful for in my life is the fact that I have managed to get a job as a flight attendant. I don’t take it for granted. Before I got into this role, I had struggled in dead-end jobs. I had struggled in jobs that were either too boring or too physically taxing. I have also held my fair share of demeaning jobs. Looking at where I have come from, I am truly grateful for my flight attendant job.
The flight attendant job has given me a chance to travel and see the world. Thanks to this job, I have found myself in places that I would certainly never have gotten otherwise.
The flight attendant job is one that is interesting. Every day, I get to deal with new people, and the tasks assigned to me are generally pleasant.
The flight attendant job is one that is not too physically taxing. It doesn’t involve any heavy lifting. True, I have to be on my feet for quite a number of hours. But I take consolation in the fact that there are many other jobs which require one to be on his feet for many hours. In-store Walmart associates, for instance, usually have to be on their feet for many hours. Yet the paychecks they get through Walmart One are not particular huge. At least on our part, as flight attendants, we get handsomely rewarded for being on our feet for so long.
Yet another thing that makes me to be grateful about my flight attendant job is (as I have just alluded) the fact that it is financially rewarding. The jobs I held before this one didn’t allow me to make any savings. In my prior roles, I often found myself living on a paycheck to paycheck basis. I am therefore grateful for the fact that the flight attendant job has given me a chance to make some real progress financially, for the first time in my life.
